If you use an Android smartphone, there’s big news for you.
Google has released its biggest security update in years, fixing a total of 129 bugs.
The company shared this information in the March Android Security Bulletin.
This is a bigger update than the April 2018 update, which addressed multiple security flaws simultaneously.
In this latest update, Google has also fixed the CVE-2026-21385 bug, which was already being exploited by cyber attackers.
This bug was affecting Qualcomm’s 234 chipset.

In addition to the Qualcomm chipset bug, Google has also fixed 10 critical bugs related to system, framework, and kernel components.
These bugs could have allowed cyber attackers to target users and take control of their systems.
These critical bugs were most impactful for users whose devices are equipped with Qualcomm chips, covering most smartphones and tablets worldwide.
These users are advised to install the latest update immediately.
How to install updates?
Go to your Android device’s Settings and open the About Phone section.
Then, tap on the Android version and select Security Update
. You’ll see an update with patch level 2026-03-05.
If this update is available, install it immediately.
If you don’t see this update, Google has issued an advisory for users who haven’t received it yet.
They’re advised not to download apps from third-party stores, to be cautious when opening attachments on websites and in emails, and to keep Google Play Protect enabled.
