India Impact Summit 2026 began on 16 February 2026, bringing together global tech leaders and innovators.
Alongside the event, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched a special digital payment solution for foreign visitors — UPI One World.
The new wallet is designed to help international delegates make smooth, cashless payments during their stay in India.
What Is UPI One World?
UPI One World is a prepaid digital wallet created especially for foreign travelers.
With this wallet, visitors can scan UPI QR codes and make instant payments to merchants across India.
The biggest advantage? Users do not need an Indian mobile number or a local bank account.
The service is currently available to delegates from over 40 countries.
NPCI has introduced it as a pilot initiative to make India’s digital payment system more accessible to global visitors.
Where and How Can Visitors Access It?
Foreign delegates attending the summit can access the wallet through authorized prepaid payment providers.
The facility is available at Indira Gandhi International Airport and at the NPCI Pavilion inside Bharat Mandapam.
This makes onboarding simple and convenient right after arrival.
Step-by-Step: How to Use UPI One World
Using the wallet is straightforward:
First, download the CheqUPI app by Transcorp.
Next, complete the registration process and submit passport and visa details.
After that, upload a selfie for identity verification and set your UPI PIN.
Once approved, you will receive a unique UPI ID.
You can then load money into the wallet using international debit or credit cards.
The maximum transaction limit is Rs 25,000. Users can load funds twice a month, with a total monthly cap of Rs 50,000.
If there is any unused balance, it can be transferred back to the original payment source as per foreign exchange rules.
Why NPCI Launched This Service
Many international travelers face difficulties using local payment systems in India.
NPCI introduced UPI One World to remove this barrier and give visitors easy access to India’s widely accepted UPI QR network.
While the service is available to users from more than 40 countries, some countries are not eligible. NPCI has not shared the list of exclusions but confirmed that restrictions follow official guidelines.
With UPI One World, India is taking another step toward making its digital payment ecosystem truly global.
