To help talented students overcome financial challenges, several organizations offer scholarships.

One such opportunity is being provided by the State Bank of India (SBI).

SBI has launched the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2026-27 to support students who want to pursue higher education at leading universities abroad.

The scholarship aims to help financially weaker students continue their studies without worrying too much about expenses.

How Much Financial Support Will SBI Provide?

Under the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship, selected students studying abroad can receive financial assistance of up to ₹15 lakh.

The scholarship is specially designed for students pursuing postgraduate or master’s degree programs at top international universities.

However, students applying for undergraduate or bachelor’s degree programs will not be eligible for this scholarship.

The scholarship is available only for Indian citizens, which means only Indian students can apply.

Eligibility Criteria for SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship

Students must meet certain conditions to apply for this scholarship.

The eligibility requirements include:

The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Students must have scored at least 7.5 CGPA or 75% marks in their previous academic year.

SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 65% marks, while PwBD candidates require at least 60% marks.

The student must have secured admission to one of the top 200 universities listed in QS Rankings.

The applicant must have a valid university offer letter.

The annual family income should not exceed ₹6 lakh.

Students must have a valid GRE, GMAT, MCAT, LNAT, or LSAT scorecard from the current or previous academic year.

Documents Required to Apply

Students who meet the eligibility criteria should keep important documents ready before applying.

Required documents include:

Caste certificate (mandatory for SC/ST candidates)

University admission offer letter

Statement of Purpose (SOP)

IELTS or TOEFL scorecard

Proof of QS/THE university ranking

Passport and visa documents

Income certificate

Bank passbook (SBI account preferred)

How to Apply for SBI Scholarship?

Eligible students can apply for the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship through the official application process.

Applicants should complete all required details, upload documents, and submit the form before the deadline.

Students should also check the scholarship guidelines to understand the number of seats available for different categories, as reserved seats are available for eligible candidates.

This scholarship can be a major opportunity for students who want to study at top global universities but face financial difficulties.
