EPFO members will not be able to use several online services for a few days as the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) upgrades its technology platform.
The temporary shutdown started on June 26 and will continue until June 28, 2026, affecting online claims and other digital services.
The organisation says the upgrade will make its systems faster, more secure, and more reliable once the work is completed.
EPFO Online Services Temporarily Suspended
According to EPFO, online claim submission and processing have been suspended from 12:00 am on June 26 until 11:59 pm on June 28.
Services are expected to resume from 12:00 am on June 29, 2026.
The maintenance is part of a database migration and software upgrade aimed at improving the overall experience for EPF subscribers.
Which Services Will Be Affected?
During the maintenance period, members will not be able to:
Submit new online PF claims
Apply for PF account transfers
Access online claim processing services through the Unified Member Portal
Use other digital claim-related services
However, claims submitted before the shutdown will not be cancelled.
They will remain pending and will be processed after the upgraded system becomes operational.
EPFO has advised members to plan their transactions accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
EPFO Plans to Launch UPI-Based PF Withdrawals
The technology upgrade comes ahead of another major change.
EPFO is preparing to introduce UPI-based and ATM-enabled PF withdrawals, making it much easier for members to access their provident fund money.
Under the new system, subscribers will be able to link their PF account with their bank account through the upcoming EPFO mobile app, which will support BHIM and other UPI platforms.
Once launched, eligible members are expected to withdraw up to 75% of their available PF balance instantly through UPI, reducing paperwork and significantly speeding up the settlement process.
