Paytm, owned by One97 Communications Limited, is rapidly growing its reach outside India. Now, Indian users can make digital payments using the Paytm UPI app in several countries.

The countries where Paytm UPI can be used include the UAE, Sri Lanka, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal.

How to Activate UPI for International Use

To use Paytm UPI abroad, users need to set up “UPI International” in the app, linking it to their bank account. Once activated, users can make payments for shopping, dining,

and other local experiences by scanning UPI-enabled QR codes in these countries. The app will prompt users for activation, making the process easy.

Customize Payment Duration for Travel

If you’re traveling abroad, you can manage your UPI payment settings for a duration of 1 to 90 days, depending on the length of your trip.

You can also deactivate it anytime. Before making a payment, users can view the foreign exchange rate and conversion fees, ensuring full transparency.

Paytm UPI Makes Shopping Easier Abroad

With Paytm UPI, shopping and making payments while traveling has become simpler. Whether you’re in Dubai’s restaurants, Singapore’s markets, or Mauritius’ beach markets, Paytm UPI allows seamless payments.

Indian travelers can now make secure, cashless payments in many countries like the UAE, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal.

The Future of UPI Expansions

The Indian government is working to expand the UPI facility internationally. In the last year and a half, UPI has been made available in several countries.

Currently, UPI can be used in Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Bhutan, UAE, Singapore, Oman, and Nepal. It is expected to be launched soon in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Australia, the USA, Bahrain, Japan, the Philippines, and more.
