PAN Card Rules change after March 31

There is an important update for anyone planning to apply for a PAN card.

Right now, you can easily get a PAN card using only your Aadhaar card.

But this is going to change soon.

From April 1, you will not be able to apply for a PAN card using only Aadhaar.

You will also need a document that proves your date of birth.

This update has been shared by CSCeGov through a post on X.

If you want to avoid extra paperwork, this is the right time to apply.

Till March 31, you can still get your PAN card using just your Aadhaar card.

This makes the process faster and simpler.

After that, the process will become slightly longer because you will need to submit additional documents.

Applying for a PAN card online is simple and can be done in a few steps.

First, visit the official NSDL website and go to the “Apply Online” section.

Select “New PAN – Indian Citizen (Form 49A)” and choose “Individual” as your category.

Fill in your basic details like name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.

After submitting the form, you will receive a token number.

Keep it safe in case you need to complete the form later.

Next, complete Aadhaar-based OTP verification.

This step removes the need to upload a photo or signature.

After that, fill in additional details like your father’s name and address.

Then pay the required fee online.

Finally, complete Aadhaar authentication using OTP, and your application will be submitted.

From April 1, applying for a PAN card will require more documents.

Along with Aadhaar, you will need proof of date of birth.

This can include documents like a birth certificate, voter ID, 10th marksheet, driving license, passport, or a certified affidavit.

This means Aadhaar alone will not be enough anymore.

If you are planning to apply for a PAN card, it is better to do it before March 31.

This way, you can complete the process quickly with fewer documents and avoid extra steps later.
