NPS investors have received an important update that could make investing more convenient.

NPS Cut-Off Time Extended to 1:30 PMHow Will NPS Investors Benefit?Which NPS Payment Channels Are Covered?Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute

The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has extended the cut-off time for getting the same-day NAV on National Pension System (NPS) contributions.

Under the new rule, NPS subscribers will now have more time during the day to make their contributions and still qualify for the same day’s NAV.

NPS Cut-Off Time Extended to 1:30 PM

PFRDA has increased the cut-off time for same-day NAV from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This gives NPS subscribers an additional 2.5 hours to complete their investments.

If the money reaches the Trustee Bank by 1:30 PM and the transaction is successfully matched, units will be allotted based on the closing NAV of that same day.

This means investors now have a longer window to make their NPS contributions without having to wait for the next day’s NAV.

How Will NPS Investors Benefit?

The main benefit of this change is faster investment of subscribers’ money. With the extended cut-off time, funds can be invested in the market sooner instead of remaining idle.

This can make the investment process more efficient and may also help investors benefit from timely market participation over the long term.

Which NPS Payment Channels Are Covered?

The new 1:30 PM cut-off rule will apply to several popular NPS contribution channels, including eNPS, D-Remit, UPI, Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), Points of Presence (PoPs), Government Nodal Offices, Tatkal NPS and STAR NPS.

Subscribers using these channels can get the same-day NAV if their contribution meets the required cut-off conditions.

Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute

There is one important condition investors should remember. Simply starting the payment or fund transfer before 1:30 PM does not guarantee the same-day NAV.

The money must be successfully credited to the Trustee Bank by 1:30 PM. Therefore, subscribers should make their payments early enough to avoid delays caused by bank processing times.
