The weather department said that a Western Disturbance will stay active over the mountains for the next 24 hours. Because of this, rain and snowfall may be recorded in the higher areas of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
Strong winds are also expected in these regions. Due to these cold winds, people may feel very chilly weather.
The department also said that on Saturday, some states in South India may see heavy rain with thunderstorms.
Pre-Monsoon Signs in South and Northeast
Pre-monsoon signs have started appearing in the southern and northeastern parts of the country.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cyclonic circulation has been affecting Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana for the past few days. Because of this, rain and thunderstorms are likely in the next few hours in these states.
In Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, anti-cyclonic circulation is causing cloud movement. This may lead to rainfall in some areas.
The IMD has also predicted that on February 27 and 28, snowfall may increase in the higher areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Rain is also possible. Cold winds during this time may increase the feeling of severe winter.
However, in North Indian states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab, the weather is expected to remain clear for now. Minimum and maximum temperatures may rise, giving early signs of summer.
How is the Weather in Delhi-NCR?
The weather in Delhi-NCR is pleasant at present. The sun has been shining since morning, which is making the day feel warmer.
The IMD said that the sky will remain clear over the weekend. The maximum temperature may stay around 30°C, while the minimum temperature may remain below 13°C.

Ridge – 14.4°C
Light winds are helping to improve air quality. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached around 185, which means pollution levels may reduce.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB):

51–100 is Satisfactory
101–200 is Moderate
201–300 is Poor
301–400 is Very Poor
401–500 is Severe
At present, an AQI of 185 falls in the Moderate category.
