This means the stock was listed at a premium of around 26%. Investors who received shares in the IPO saw a strong listing gain on the first day of trading.

Karamtara Engineering IPO Listing Gain

The listing price was also higher than the grey market expectations. Before listing, the grey market was indicating a possible gain of around 15–18%.

For investors who received one lot, the listing also resulted in a notable gain. The IPO lot size was 59 shares, and at ₹254 per share, one lot required an investment of ₹14,986.

At the NSE listing price of ₹320, these 59 shares were worth around ₹18,880. This means the investor gained approximately ₹3,894 per lot at the time of listing.

However, this is only a calculation based on the listing price. The actual profit or loss will depend on the price at which the shares are sold, along with brokerage and other applicable charges.

₹675 Crore Fresh Issue

Karamtara Engineering’s IPO had a total issue size of ₹875 crore. It included a fresh issue of ₹675 crore and an offer for sale of ₹200 crore.

Under the OFS, promoters Tanveer Singh and Rajeev Singh sold part of their holdings. The company planned to use the fresh issue proceeds mainly for reducing debt and borrowing-related payments, along with general corporate purposes.

The company had also said that its stock market listing could help improve brand recognition and expand its reach among customers.

IPO Subscription Reached 62.63 Times

The IPO received a strong response from investors before its listing. According to NSE data, the issue was subscribed 62.63 times overall.

The company received bids for around 1.59 billion shares, compared with around 25.41 crore shares available in the IPO. The QIB portion was subscribed around 159.59 times.

The NII category was subscribed 48.55 times, while the retail portion received 13.26 times subscription. The figures showed strong participation from institutional and other investors.

Company Raised ₹262.50 Crore from Anchors

Before the IPO opened, Karamtara Engineering raised ₹262.50 crore from anchor investors. These included institutional investors such as HDFC Mutual Fund, Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund, Mirae Asset Mutual Fund, Nippon India Mutual Fund, SBI Life Insurance and HDFC Life Insurance.

Strong subscription and anchor participation can indicate investor interest at the IPO stage, but they do not guarantee future stock performance.

Karamtara Engineering operates in the infrastructure and renewable energy products segment.

Its product portfolio includes transmission line towers, wind energy structures, structural steel profiles, solar structures, tracker components and fasteners.

The company sells its products in India as well as overseas markets. After the strong listing, investors will now focus on the company’s business performance, financial position and the stock’s movement in the market.

The Karamtara Engineering IPO listing gain is based on the opening price and does not determine how the stock will perform in the future. Market conditions and the company’s business results will remain important factors.
