Customers should check the new free transaction limits because using an ATM beyond these limits can lead to extra charges.

The bank has reduced the number of free transactions for some customers. It has also revised charges for transactions made after the free limit is exhausted.

How Many Free ATM Transactions Are Allowed?

Canara Bank previously allowed eligible customers up to six free ATM transactions under the applicable limit. This has now been reduced to five transactions.

The limit includes both financial transactions, such as cash withdrawals, and non-financial transactions, such as balance enquiries.

Once the free limit is exhausted, customers will have to pay a fee for additional ATM transactions.

How Much Will You Have to Pay?

After crossing the applicable free limit, Canara Bank will charge ₹23 plus GST for a financial transaction. The earlier charge was ₹20 plus GST.

Charges also apply to non-financial transactions after the free limit is crossed. The amount depends on the type of ATM and applicable transaction rules.

Charges for Failed ATM Transactions

Customers should also keep enough money in their account before making a withdrawal. If an ATM transaction fails because of insufficient funds, Canara Bank can charge ₹23.

Earlier, the charge for such failed transactions was ₹17.

What About Other Bank ATMs?

Canara Bank customers using ATMs of other banks get three free transactions per month in metro cities and five free transactions in non-metro cities, subject to the applicable rules.

After the free limit is exhausted, a financial transaction will cost ₹23 plus GST. A non-financial transaction at another bank’s ATM will cost ₹11 plus GST.

The revised Canara Bank ATM rules are effective from September 1, 2026. Customers who frequently use ATMs should keep track of their monthly transactions to avoid extra charges
