As June comes to an end, it’s time for bank customers to check the holiday calendar for July 2026.
Banks across different states will remain closed on several days due to weekends and regional festivals, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
If you have important branch-related work, planning ahead can help you avoid last-minute inconvenience.
While bank branches will remain closed on these dates, online banking services will continue to work as usual.
Bank Holidays in July 2026
According to the RBI holiday calendar, banks will remain closed for a total of 12 days in July 2026, including regular weekend holidays and state-specific festival holidays.
Weekly Bank Holidays
Banks across the country will remain closed on:
Sundays: July 5, 12, 19 and 26
Second Saturday: July 11
Fourth Saturday: July 25
State-Wise Bank Holidays
Apart from weekends, banks will also remain closed in selected states on the following dates:
July 6: Banks in Aizawl will remain closed for MHIP Day.
July 9: Banks in Shillong will be shut due to Beh Deinkhlam.
July 16: Banks will remain closed in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun and Imphal for Ratha Yatra, Kang (Rathajatra), and Harela.
July 17: Banks in Shillong will remain closed to observe the Death Anniversary of U Tirot Singh.
July 18: Banks in Gangtok will remain shut for Drukpa Tshe-zi.
July 22: Banks in Agartala will remain closed for Kharchi Puja.
Will Online Banking Be Available?
Yes. Even though bank branches will remain closed on these holidays, customers can continue using digital banking services without any interruption.
Services such as UPI, NEFT, RTGS, internet banking, and mobile banking will remain available 24×7.
You can transfer money, pay bills, check account balances, and complete most banking transactions from anywhere.
However, services that require visiting a bank branch, such as document verification, cheque-related work, or account-related requests, will not be available on these holidays.
RBI Holiday Categories Explained
The RBI classifies bank holidays into three categories:
Negotiable Instruments Act Holidays: Branch operations and cheque clearing remain closed.
RTGS Holidays: Branch-based RTGS services are unavailable.
Bank Closing of Accounts: Special holiday mainly observed on April 1 for annual account closing.
If you have any branch-related banking work planned in July, it is advisable to check the holiday list in advance and complete your work on working days to avoid unnecessary delays.
