Many people break rules knowingly or unknowingly while driving cars or bikes.

Understanding traffic fines can help you avoid trouble and ensure your safety on the road.

Common Traffic Violations and Fines

Overspeeding:

Driving over the speed limit can cost you between ₹1,000 and ₹2,000.

Fines may vary depending on highways or expressways.

Drunk Driving:

Drunk driving is extremely dangerous.

If caught, you may face a ₹10,000 fine and possible imprisonment.

Not Wearing a Seat Belt:

Failing to wear a seat belt while driving a car can result in a ₹1,000 fine.

Seat belts protect you from serious injuries in accidents.

Driving Without a License:

Driving without a valid license is a serious offense.

The fine for this violation is ₹5,000.

Not Wearing a Helmet:

Riding a bike or scooter without a helmet can attract a ₹1,000 fine.

Repeated violations may lead to license suspension.

Using a Mobile Phone While Driving:

Distracted driving is dangerous.

Using a phone while driving can cost ₹5,000, as drivers must always stay focused on the road.

Driving Without RC (Registration Certificate):

Driving without an RC is a violation and can result in a fine of ₹3,000–₹5,000.

Three People on a Bike:

Motorcycles are meant for two people only.

Riding with three people can lead to a ₹1,000 fine and even license revocation.

Driving Without Insurance:

All vehicles must have valid insurance.

Driving without insurance can result in a ₹2,000 fine for the first offense and smaller fines for repeated offenses.

Exceeding Speed for Heavy Vehicles:

Buses, trucks, and other heavy vehicles also have speed limits.

Violating them can result in fines from ₹2,000 to ₹4,000, depending on the road.

Stay Safe and Avoid Fines

Following traffic rules not only prevents fines but also keeps you and others safe on the road.

Always wear a seat belt or helmet, drive responsibly, and ensure your documents like license, RC, and insurance are up to date.
