Changing jobs has become common, but every new job can create a new PF Member ID.
While the Universal Account Number (UAN) is designed to keep all your Provident Fund accounts connected, old records are sometimes left unlinked.

To make things easier, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) provides a Service History feature.
It allows employees to check their current and previous job records linked to their UAN in one place.
Why Should You Check Your PF Service History?
The Service History feature can help you spot mistakes in your PF records without searching through years-old documents.
For example, your previous employer may not have updated your date of leaving.
In another case, an old PF account may not have been properly linked to your UAN.
These issues can easily go unnoticed because your new employer continues making PF contributions to a different Member ID.

If an old employer is missing from the list or your date of leaving is incorrect, you can contact the employer and request a correction.

PF Transfer Can Become Easier
Checking your service history can also help if you think you may have more than one UAN.
Ideally, an employee should have only one UAN throughout their career.
However, duplicate UANs can sometimes be created when employees change jobs.
By reviewing your service history, you can check whether all your previous employment records are connected to the correct UAN.
If you find any missing records or other discrepancies, it is better to get them corrected as soon as possible.
This can help prevent problems when transferring your PF balance, withdrawing money or applying for pension benefits.
How to Check Your EPFO Service History
You can check your PF employment records online through the EPFO Member e-Sewa portal.
Follow these simple steps:
Visit the EPFO Member e-Sewa portal.
Log in using your UAN and password.
Click on the ‘View’ option.
Select ‘Service History’.
You will then see your employment details linked to your UAN.
This can include your current and previous employers, PF Member IDs, and dates of joining and leaving.
Checking this information from time to time can help you find errors early and avoid unnecessary trouble when you need your PF money in the future.
