Even though some bank branches may look open on April 1, regular customers will not get branch services on this day. The day is reserved for the annual closing of accounts and important financial work.
Bank employees remain busy with closing the accounts for the entire financial year and completing other key accounting tasks.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the financial year ends on March 31 every year, and banks complete the final account closing on April 1.
Because of this, while some branches stay open, customers cannot visit them for normal banking work.

Banks will remain closed in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru on April 3 because of Good Friday.

Banks will remain closed in different states between April 14 and April 16 due to festivals and important occasions like:

Banking services will also be limited in some states on April 20 and 21.

Digital Banking Services Will Continue
Even when bank branches are closed, digital banking services will continue without interruption.
Customers can still:
send money through UPI
use mobile banking
access internet banking
withdraw cash from ATMs
However, some branch-based services will not be available, such as:
cheque clearing
demand drafts
other branch-related transactions
Because of this, it is better to complete important banking work before the holiday dates to avoid any inconvenience later.
