The changes will mainly affect customers who use credit cards for movie tickets, transport, insurance payments, online gaming, and wallet recharges.

While some benefits will continue, many features will be discontinued, and some charges will increase. Credit card users should carefully understand these updates to avoid surprises.

Free Movie TicketBenefit Discontinued

ICICI Bank has confirmed that the free BookMyShow movie ticket benefit on some credit cards will end from 1 February 2026.

This change will apply to the following cards:

ICICI Bank Instant Platinum Chip Credit Card

ICICI Bank Instant Platinum Credit Card

After this date, customers using these cards will no longer get free or discounted movie tickets when booking through BookMyShow.

Changes in Reward Points on Transport Spending

ICICI Bank has introduced new limits on reward points for transport-related spending such as cabs, metro, railways, and other travel services.

Premium Credit Cards

Customers using premium cards like Rubyx, Sapphiro, and Emeralde will earn reward points on transport expenses only up to ₹20,000 per month.

Regular and Mid-Segment Credit Cards

For regular and mid-range cards, reward points will be given only up to ₹10,000 per month on transport spending.
No reward points will be given for spending beyond this limit.

Relief on Insurance Payments

There is good news for ICICI Bank HPCL Super Saver Credit Card users. Reward points on insurance premium payments will continue up to ₹40,000, just like before.

This means there is no reduction in benefits for insurance payments.

Online Gaming Transactions Will Be Charged

From 15 January 2026, ICICI Bank will charge extra fees on online gaming transactions.

If you use your credit card to add money to platforms like:

Dream11

MPL

Rummy Culture

Other similar gaming platforms

a 2% charge will be applied on every transaction.

Wallet Recharges Will Become Costlier

Adding money to third-party wallets using a credit card will also become more expensive. A 1% fee will be charged if you load ₹5,000 or more into wallets such as:

Paytm

Amazon Pay

PhonePe

MobiKwik

Freecharge

OlaMoney

Extra Charges on High Transport Spending

If a customer spends more than ₹50,000 per month in the transport category, a 1% charge will be applied on the excess amount.

What Customers Should Know

Many old benefits are being removed, and reward points are now limited for certain categories. Charges are increasing for digital and high-risk transactions like online gaming.

If you frequently use ICICI credit cards, it is important to review the new terms and conditions so you can manage your spending better.
