To help customers stay protected, Axis Bank has launched a new ‘Safety Center’ feature on its mobile banking app, ‘Open’.

This Safety Center works as a central security hub, giving customers real-time control over their banking activities and helping them safeguard their accounts before any suspicious or fraudulent activity takes place.

What Is Axis Bank’s Safety Center?

Axis Bank’s Safety Center is designed to make account security simple, fast, and fully customer-controlled.

With this feature, customers do not need to call customer care or visit a bank branch to take urgent security actions. Instead, they can instantly manage and control various digital banking features directly from the app.

Customers can enable or disable online banking services based on their needs.

This is especially helpful if someone suspects fraud, loses their phone, or wants to temporarily stop online transactions for safety reasons. The Safety Center allows users to act quickly and prevent potential financial loss.

SMS Shield: Identify Fake Messages Easily

One of the most important features of the Safety Center is SMS Shield. This tool helps customers identify genuine messages sent by Axis Bank. It works by matching the sender ID of incoming messages with the official Axis Bank sender ID.

If a message does not match the official ID, customers can easily identify it as fake or suspicious.

This feature is very useful in preventing fraud caused by scam SMS messages that try to trick users into sharing sensitive information like OTPs, PINs, or account details.

Full Control Over Digital Banking Transactions

The Safety Center gives customers complete control over their digital banking activities. Using this feature, customers can:

Disable or enable internet banking

Block or allow fund transfers

Set limits on UPI transactions

Restrict the addition of new payees so money can only be sent to already added beneficiaries

Set transaction limits and require extra authentication for high-value transactions

These controls help reduce the risk of unauthorized transactions and give customers peace of mind while using digital banking services.

Instant Implementation of Safety Settings

A key advantage of Axis Bank’s Safety Center is that all changes made by customers are applied immediately. There is no waiting period or processing time. As soon as a customer updates any safety setting, it comes into effect instantly.

This real-time implementation helps reduce the risk of digital fraud and removes the need to depend on bank branches or call centers during emergencies.

Real-Time Control and Axis Bank’s Vision

Commenting on the launch, Sameer Shetty, Group Executive – Digital Business, Transformation and Strategic Programs at Axis Bank, said that the Safety Center gives customers real-time control over their banking security.

He added that features like SMS Shield and in-app mobile OTP are strengthening customer protection and making digital banking safer and more convenient.

Axis Bank has already introduced safety-focused features such as ‘Lock FD’ and ‘In-App Mobile OTP’ under its Safe Banking initiative.

The launch of the Safety Center is another major step towards combating the growing threat of digital fraud and improving the overall financial security of customers.

Overall, the Safety Center aims to empower customers with better control, faster action, and stronger protection in today’s digital banking environment.
