Whether you are investing for the first time or planning for long-term financial security, SBI FDs are known for safety, stability, and steady returns.

Even as many banks have reduced interest rates recently, SBI continues to offer competitive returns.

At present, SBI FD interest rates range from 3.05% to 7.05%, depending on the deposit tenure and the age of the investor.

This flexibility helps investors pick an option that matches their financial goals.

Popular SBI Fixed Deposit Schemes

Amrit Varsha FD – 444 Days

This special FD has gained a lot of attention among investors.

The deposit tenure can start from as short as 7 days and go up to 10 years.

General investors earn an interest rate of 6.45%, while senior citizens receive 6.95%.

Because of its balanced tenure and decent returns, this scheme is especially popular with people looking for medium-term investments.

5-Year Fixed Deposit Plan

The 5-year FD is ideal for those planning long-term savings or retirement income.

General investors earn 6.05% interest on this scheme. Senior citizens get a higher return of 7.05%, while super senior citizens aged 80 years and above earn 7.15%.

This makes it a preferred option for retirees who want stable and predictable income.

Returns on a ₹2 Lakh Investment

For general investors, a ₹2,00,000 investment in a 5-year FD grows to around ₹2.70 lakh, earning interest of approximately ₹70,035.

For senior citizens, the same investment matures at about ₹2.83 lakh, with interest close to ₹83,652.

For super senior citizens, the maturity amount reaches nearly ₹2.85 lakh, generating interest of around ₹85,049.

These figures clearly show that higher age brings higher returns, making SBI FDs especially rewarding after retirement.

Why SBI FD is considered safe

SBI fixed deposits are backed by India’s largest public sector bank, making them one of the safest investment options available.

They offer assured returns with minimal risk, which is ideal for conservative investors.

If your priority is to protect your savings while earning steady income, SBI FDs can be a smart addition to your investment portfolio, especially for long-term planning and retirement security.
