These include additional costs for education-related payments and wallet loads made using SBI Credit Cards.

1% Charge on Education Payments via Third-Party Apps

From November 1, 2025, SBI Cardholders who pay school, college, or other educational institution fees using third-party payment apps like Paytm, PhonePe, or Razorpay will have to pay a 1% transaction charge.

However, there will be no extra fee if the payment is made directly through the school or college website or via a point-of-sale (POS) machine on the campus.

1% Charge on Wallet Loads Above ₹1,000

Under the new rules, a 1% charge will also apply when customers add more than ₹1,000 to their digital wallets, such as Paytm Wallet or Amazon Pay.

For example, if you load ₹2,000 into your wallet, ₹20 will be deducted as a fee, so only ₹1,980 will be credited to your wallet.

Other SBI Credit Card Charges

Cash Payment Fee: ₹250 for paying the credit card bill in cash.

Payment Dishonor Fee: 2% of the payment amount or ₹500 (whichever is higher) if a payment fails or bounces.

Cheque Payment Fee: ₹200 for bill payments made through cheques.

Cash Advance Fee:

2.5% of the withdrawn amount or a minimum of ₹500 for cash withdrawals from ATMs in India.

The same charges apply for international ATM withdrawals.

Card Replacement Fee:

₹100 to ₹250 for regular cards.

Up to ₹1,500 for Aurum cards.
