HDFC Bank, the country’s largest private bank, has once again reduced the interest rates on fixed deposits (FDs) and savings accounts. The bank has lowered the rates by 25 basis points (0.25%), and the new rates are effective from June 25, 2025.
This is the second time in June that HDFC Bank has made such a change. Earlier, on June 10, it had slashed interest rates on some selected FDs.
The new rates apply to deposits below Rs 3 crore. Additionally, the interest rate on savings accounts was also reduced by 25 basis points starting June 24, 2025.
Revised Interest Rates on These FDs
HDFC Bank will now offer 6.35% interest instead of 6.60% to regular customers on FDs of less than 15 months and more than 18 months. For senior citizens, the rate has been reduced from 7.10% to 6.85%.
Currently, HDFC Bank offers FD interest rates ranging from 2.75% to 6.60% for regular customers and 3.25% to 7.10% for senior citizens.
These changes follow the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) 50 basis point cut in the repo rate, and now customers can clearly see the impact of falling interest rates on both savings and investments.
