Edelweiss MF launches New Consumption Fund

Edelweiss Mutual Fund has introduced the Edelweiss Consumption Fund, an open-ended equity scheme focused on the consumption sector. The New Fund Offer (NFO) will be open for subscriptions from January 31 to February 14.

The primary goal of the fund is to generate long-term capital growth by investing mainly in equity and equity-related securities. It will target companies involved in the consumption sector and related industries.

Radhika Gupta, MD and CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, explained that the consumer market in India, fueled by rising disposable income, urbanization, digitization,

and other factors, is expected to grow significantly. India is already one of the world’s largest consumer markets, and the fund aims to take advantage of this long-term opportunity.

The fund will adopt a diversified approach, investing in various sectors like FMCG, consumer staples, consumer durables, education, and healthcare. This strategy is designed to provide long-term wealth creation for investors.

The minimum investment amount for this scheme is Rs 100, making it accessible to a wide range of investors. The scheme is ideal for those looking to diversify their portfolios with equity investments based on India’s consumption-driven growth.

The fund will be managed by Dhruv Bhatia, Tridip Bhattacharya, and Amit Vora, and will be benchmarked against the NIFTY India Consumption TRI.

Investment Details

Investors can invest with a minimum amount of Rs 100, and subsequent investments can be made in multiples of Rs 1.

An exit load of 1% applies if units are redeemed or switched within 90 days of allotment. After 90 days, there will be no exit load.

Fund Accessibility and Management

The minimum investment in the fund is Rs 100, making it accessible to a wide range of investors. It is suited for those looking to diversify their portfolio with a focus on India’s consumption theme.

The fund will be managed by Dhruv Bhatia, Tridip Bhattacharya, and Amit Vora, with the NIFTY India Consumption TRI as its benchmark.
